The Movement

More proof that Seattle's hiphop scene is in its moment, the CMJ's hiphop chart holds three works that were produced by locals artists: The Blue Scholar's Oof, which is at number 3; D.Black's Ali'yah, which is at 4; and the Physics' High Society, which is at 16.

Last week, CMJ's music festival had no less than four acts from the Seattle area: THEESatisfaction, D. Black, Grynch, and Champagne Champagne. What's great about this collection? Its diversity. Each act has a distinct style and musical direction. Seattle is, true, more and more becoming one crew, but it is a unity of singularities.
