Raving Lunatic Alert! Lady at Bus Stop at 11th & Pine Screaming Modest Mouse Lyrics

Posted by Christopher Frizzelle on Fri, Nov 27, 2009 at 4:34 PM

She was shouting out the lyrics to Modest Mouse's "3rd Planet" as loudly as possible—really shouting—while playing an invisible electric guitar and invisible drums. The lyrics are extra creepy when they're being sung so emphatically.

While outside! Naked! Shiverin' lookin' blue!
From the cold sunlight that's reflected off the moon!
And baby cum angels! Fly around you!
Reminding you that we used to be three and not two!
And that's how! The world! Began!
And that's how! The world! Will end!

Then she started banging on the walls of the bus stop structure. Then a bus came and whisked her away.

Condolences to everyone on that bus.

Depending on several factors, I would consider that worth seeing...... and beautiful.

I visited Seattle as a tourist from Australia earlier this year.

It just so happens that the one anecdote which I brought back to my countrywomen and men, to sum up what I observed of Seattle relates to a man I befriended, who was also known to sing at the top of his lungs, while walking down busy streets, and how nobody seemed to care, cause in Seattle, you can do what you want, no one judges, right?

so shut up. you're messing with my myth of Seattle as the tolerant utopia. kay?
