Poster of the Year?

Posted by on Wed, Dec 2, 2009 at 5:01 PM

I think it just might be. The design is by Aubrey Nehring of Portable Shrines Steve Quenell. Bonus: The show it's advertising promises to be a live-rock highlight. More verbiage about that as the date approaches.

Dear Dave, think this might be a Steve Quenell design, but I'm not 100% sure? Anyway, right on..http://www.portableshrines.com/blog/?p=2025

Its cool, but its not even to poster of the year. Are you kidding?!
The design isn't that exciting, its just centered. They type goes with image and title well enough but its treatment just isn't that clever.
And the illustration isnt anything new either. James Kholine (sp?) was doing this to a much greater degree for in the late 90-early 00.

@5 What , like I have a copy of every poster made in the last year?

What ever happened to and-lettering? The reason the Wes Wilson/ Victor Moscoso/
Rick Griffin posters were so great was because they were - at least partially - drawn by the artist.
Anyway I like this one a bunch.
