The bulk of our attention tonight we must devote to FRINGE. Why? WHY?
Becasue, firstly, fringe is a jaunty addition to cuff or collar, and it makes an especially distinctive statement when applied to white leather boots. Or a nice sombrero! Second of all, Fringe is a promising fresh and fledgling club night that marks its initial red-carpet go at, um, The Eagle. (Yes, red carpet. Yes, THE EAGLE! ) The aesthetic mood Fringe is endeavoring to capture is singular: heavy on the street fashion, keen on the naughty, doused in bangles and bent on decadent extremes. Advice from the event’s promoters:
This is a "LET YOUR FREAK FLAG FLY" event. All are welcome and ALL are encouraged to dress up or dress down. If you're a hipster, get ultra-hip, if you're a leather daddy, wear your BEST leather, if you're a glitter kid, DOUSE yourself in sparkles, if you're a bear, grow MORE hair. Fashion designers and artists get cracking on some new threads. Or if you just hate wearing clothes, come in your underwear!Newish-on-the-scene DJs Nark and JT'O are in charge of making your butt shake. There is a $3-$5 cover, depending on when you get there. The event begins at 9pm, and The Eagle is at 314 East Pike St. (As if you didn’t know.) Also…
