The Vera Project is transforming into a marketplace for independent music and crafts, along with live music, and interactive silkscreening. All proceeds help support music, art presentation, and arts education through the Vera Project and Hollow Earth Radio. The DIY marketplace will feature independent Northwest record and cassette labels, musicians, silk-screened show posters, vintage record dealers, local artists, craft-makers, and designers selling their wares throughout Vera’s venue. This is the perfect opportunity to find a one-of-a-kind gift just in time for the holidays. The event will also include live musical performances by Northwest musicians, Hollow Earth DJs spinning on site, a bake sale, a raffle for hand-printed posters, and much much more!
And unlike most craft fairs, you'll be the one making the crafts! You know, if you want. Ten local designers have designed Vera logos, and for $5 you can silkscreen them on any fabric item you bring (a t-shirt, a pillow case, a tote bag, a curtain, whatever). They'll also have blank t-shirts on hand for purchase.
Doors open at 11 am, it goes until 5 pm, and admission is free. The music line-up includes Dashel Schueler, the June Madrona, World History, 1985, iji, and the Foghorns. More information can be found at www.theveraproject.org and http://www.hollowearthradio.com">http://www.hollowearthradio.org/.
(This might be a great opportunity to pick up something fun for the 2nd Annual Slog Happy gift exchange next Thursday at the Nite Lite! Just a thought.)
