Show Review / Drinking / Last Night / Gossip Did Spencer Moody Really Kick Someone in the Head Last Night?

That's what I heard, but the alleged kicking allegedly happened as my friends and I were leaving, which coincidentally was just as the band was going off about how they didn't give a fuck if people wanted to leave (some of us had to work in the morning, and it was almost one am, fwiw). So...anybody there see what did or didn't go down? (Allegedly.)

Yep. I spoke later to the guy who got kicked. He was talking to his friend about the last time he saw the band play. I guess that warrants getting kicked around.

Dude got kicked at the beginning of the second song, before they were talking about it being cool if people left. It seemed like the dude was provoking Spencer, but I don't know the specifics.

@4-I believe the only way to avoid getting kicked in the head is if you stand perfectly still and not chit chat with your neighbor while the band performs.

So the answers are "yes" (kick happened) and "yes" (tires were slashed). So what? That's rock n' roll. (1) You'd be a pussy to go to show like that, stand in the front row, and whine about getting kicked in the chest. However, the dude didn't whine about it. He took care of his shit. (2) You'd be a pussy to whine about your tires being slashed after kicking some dude in the chest. However, Mr. Brewer didn't whine. From the twitter post above, it sounds more like a statement of fact: That's life. Kick someone and get your tires slashed. No BS police reports or gossip column bickering--just a couple guys taking care of their own shit. I approve.

additionally, some douche bag backstage (i think the tire-slitting dude himself) also confronted me about the situation backstage after the show while i was alone and he was with his other chode friend. I am a small wimpy looking nerd and he was a tall leathered-out dickweed who decided he needed to stick his dick in my face, through his mouth. I would argue that fake-hells-angel-wannabees looking to relive a rolling stones concert need to stop being total dicks and acting macho and threatening to small nerds.

This kind of shit is exactly why I dig Triumph Of Lethargy. I love bands that bum out tons of people. They're like Fear, but with less casual homophobia.

I saw the guitarist for the Suicide Machines kick a dude in the head after said dude crowd-surfed right into his mic stand, causing the microphone to knock out his front two teeth and put an extremely bloody hole in his lip. Know what? Show went on [minus two teeth and plus one concussion]. Fuckin' righteous. I knew I was in the right place.

Please dont compare a shitty over the hill Seattle 'punk' band to Fear. MCD and Triumph of Boring will have no impact on music history, other than in the eyes and coked out minds of the Pike/Pine corridor dwellers.

@14 I was standing next to the van whilst Corey headed back inside to grab some more gear. The dude was wearing black, walked up and stuck a knife in the tire, then walked away quite quickly. I didn't really see what he looked like on account of poor lighting. I immediately looked in the door to see if there was anyone in the band to yell, "Hey, someone just slashed the front right tire" then a fellow with a beard said a bullshit distraction (along with a bullshit tone) like "Hey, did you hear that high squealing sound? I think it came from inside?". I moved around the fellow and tried to spot the "Slasher" but I didn't see where he went. I was mostly bewildered with what to do.

So there really is no proof the guy who slashed the tire is the fan that Spencer kicked. Still, seems like it played out fine if it was the guy. Spencer got a little unnecessarily violent on a fan, fan replied to the kick with a little monkey wrenching by slashing his tire. No big deal and actually pretty funny.

That dude seriously cried about it that hard? Spencer did some similar stunt a year ago at the Showbox (with Minus the Bear headlining) and the kid who got shoved just posted some whiny Myspace comment.
