Todd Sykes & EvergreenOne - "90's Shit" Video

With all the Seattle-stroking I indulge in, it's about time I threw up something from our peoples down the road- Tacoma holds it down for sure with nuff talented hiphop acts of their own. Cats like Wojack, Spaid, Second Family, and Jay Barz all put on for their city- as well as another one of my favorite crews from the 253, Todd Sykes and EvergreenOne.

I briefly chatted with the EvergreenOne about this song/video, off of the upcoming release Milk On Wax:

"90's Shit" is my favorite song to perform, that's why i wanted to make a video for it. I walk around the north end of Tacoma sayin some shit about stuff that i remember when i was coming up during the early 90's. Good times. We only got kicked out of one place, surprisingly- shouts to Stanley & Seaforts! Chumps!

On the Tac's homegrown scene:
Tacoma is a great place- I'm not one of the "put this fuckin' city on the map" type of guys but i would definitely love to see some artists make some noise this year, musically. Even though the scene is kind of disconnected the pride is definitely in all of these artists out here, I think it's in the water.

Sykes adds:

There are a lot of great artists in Tacoma and most of them have a lot of pride being from from the Tac; nobody is about to move away to try and get on. Once everyone puts their projects out from Tacoma you will be hearing a buzz from us, I'm sure.

My house (for the next 6 days), is a block away from the background in the bridge scenes.
