We're surprised this wasn't already put up, but here's a recap of what happened last week for those who might've missed it.
1.] The New York Times writes an article about how everyone, for their next trip, should see Sri Lanka.
2.] M.I.A. replies with photographs of dead children.
3.] 'FUCK NEW YORK TIMES! DO YOU THINK YOU NEED TO GO HERE ON VACATION?'
4.] She then writes and records a song about it all one night for $100 and with dubstep producer Rusko.
This is what it's like.
To be fair, while the song feels disappointingly unfinished and marginal, particularly considering that it's more or less M.I.A.'s first new song since 2007's Kala, the rapid-response bargain back-story does makes up for it and ultimately dares anyone else to whip up something as interesting with as little time or money.
Point, M.I.A.
