Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk Live Tonight on Mercer Island

Posted by on Fri, Feb 5, 2010 at 9:35 AM

Yeah, Stranger-approved deepscape prodigies Baby Birds Don’t Drink Milk are playing Vera next week, but did you know they’re playing a gig on Mercer Island tonight?

As part of some time-killing during their current Emerald City breather, BBDDM are playing Le North Pole, Mercer Island’s all-ages answer to Vera or the Redmond Firehouse. Doors are at 8 PM; Le North Pole is at 2403 60th AVE SE.
UPDATE: As you can see in the comments, the show tonight has unfortunately been canceled and moved to the 19th. There are also still four more in-state opportunities to catch the band: the aforementioned Feb. 10th show at the Vera Project, and gigs in Tacoma on the 12th and 20th.

If you’re unfamiliar with BBDDM’s stuff, then you’re really missing out. Their aural auroras have won over the discerning critics at The Onion, Pitchfork, and 90 percent of the blogs I check daily. And trust me, it’s not empty hype—their innocuously titled songs are gaze-y, paradoxical curiosities: sometimes fierce, sometimes Fabergé.

And dudes, if you’re reading this, might I suggest that you hook up with California’s Norse Horse on some of those upcoming coastal dates? You guys would make a supernaturally good match.

This show actually has been re-scheduled for the 19th because we couldn't find any other bands to play. Thanks for putting this up, though! I just don't want a bunch of jazzed individuals showing up at my house on the wrong night!

Thanks,

Elk Paauw
(on behalf of Le North Pole)
