Who Do You Think's Playing Sasquatch?

Posted by on Thu, Feb 11, 2010 at 1:13 PM

The official line-up is going to be announced at Monday's free festival launch party at the Crocodile, but until then, this unofficial Sasquatch! blog is doing a pretty good job keeping track of who's confirmed (fucking Pavement!), who's just got telling gaps in their touring schedules that weekend (Why?!), and who just might maybe be playing if you believe hard enough (dare to dream, LCD Soundsystem?):

Confirmed
Pavement, Neon Indian, Vetiver, Wale, Morning Teleportation, Miike Snow, Why?, Cymbals Eat Guitars

Rumored
Nada Surf, Vampire Weekend, Local Natives, Girls, Soundgarden, The National, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros

Ok, these are just my guesses based on some fact, some probability and a lot of hunch, oh and it is not, I repeat is not, the actual lineup!

Pavement, Soundgarden, Flaming Lips, Them Crooked Vultures, Faith No More, MGMT, The Black Keys, Band of Horses, Jamie Liddel, Phoenix, Chromeo, The Dead Weather, LCD Soundsystem, Peter, Bjorn and John, Vampire Weekend, The National, She and Him, Broken Bells, Japandroids, Nada Surf, The Thermals, Local Natives, Girls, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, The XX, The Temper Trap, Neon Indian, Vetiver, Wale, Morning Teleportation, Miike Snow, Why?, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Owen Pallet, Laura Veirs, Fresh Espresso, As Tall As Lions, Macklemore, Portugal. the Man, Frightened Rabbit, Bassnectar, Mew, Dirty Projectors, The Moondoggies and a bunch of bands I have not heard of yet...

(For what it's worth, word on the street here is that they're right about Soundgarden.)

Ugh.

On one hand, dream come true if they get LCD. On the other, can you imagine the shit heads that will infest that place to see Soundgarden?

Don't larger bands (i.e. Faith No More) sign some contract with Goldenvoice saying they won't play other large festivals if Coachella gets them as a headliner?

I'll be really surprised if the National isn't on the bill. Like them, Seattle is notably absent from the Tallest Man On Earth spring tour.

I'm just wondering how Sasquatch will top Bonnarroo's cuckoo announcement. Will they have a yeti belching out acts every few minutes at the Crocodile on Monday?

@1 I'm pretty sure that the "shit heads" aren't going to pay $100 to see one band of a full day festival lineup. There are plenty of legit people that would enjoy seeing Soundgarden, if only for a little nostalgia. You're a fucking idiot.

Jeff, people who are not "shit heads" love Soundgarden too. It sucks that you feel the need to stereotype people according to their choice in music...

I'd rather hang out with a bunch of Soundgarden shit heads than a bunch of Vampire Weekend shit heads.

I stand corrected.

Soundgarden's fans are all intellects with supreme taste in music and fine wine.

I was thrown off by all the backwards caps.

Jeff, chances are you have NEVER SEEN Soundgarden live. So, you're talking out of your ass.
Please shut up about everything.

"Spoonman" can be heard blaring from every Jeep Cherokee on frat row.

That says nothing about SG as a band, but everything about how their music has been co-opted by people who also like Nickleback.

2many Djs would be amaaaazing! Gotta add Erol Alkan on the lineup as well.

I'm already sold on Miike Snow alone. I'm surprised they didn't make many top 10 lists for 2009. They're a really great band!
