News Ex-Gang Starr MC Guru in a Coma After Heart Attack

One of hiphop's greatest rapper/lyricists, the monotone maestro Guru (aka Keith Elam, 43), suffered a heart attack and is currently in a coma. More info here and here.

Along with DJ Premier, Guru elevated Gang Starr to legendary status among many hiphop heads. He also has helmed a four-album series of jazz-oriented hiphop under the Jazzmatazz moniker.

Healing thoughts go out to Elam and his family and friends.

UPDATE: Sources say that Guru's surgery was successful and he is expected to make a full recovery. More info at AllHipHop.com.
