Garek Druss' International Lounge Takeover

Posted by on Fri, Mar 5, 2010 at 3:19 PM

Local musician Garek Druss (A Story of Rats, Dull Knife, Portland's Tecumseh, sometimes Du Hexen Hase) will be starting a monthly DJ residency within Scratchmaster Joe's International Lounge at Grey Gallery (full disclosure: I've DJed at this event). This isn't so much a coup as it is a cameo spot where Druss gets to curate the second Sunday night of every month to his specs (or Specs One, as the case may be).

Druss' reign starts March 14 with Portable Shrines (Aubrey Nehring and Darlene Nordyke) and continues April 11 with Michael Evans and May 9 with Matt Rogers and Andy Crane from Wildildlife, and June 13 with Adam Svenson (Dull Knife, Du Hexen Hase, Little Claw). This promises to be a series full of head-scratching/mind-expanding sounds of many varieties. Action usually runs from 7 pm till you can't take it anymore.
