Blur's Day

Blur - 'Fools Day'

A few things about the Blur single.

Initially, "Fool's Day" did come out on Record Store Day, but with only 1,000 vinyl copies and exclusively through British independent shops. Impossible for us, in other words.

They've now not only released it as a free, official mp3, as Megan mentioned, but as a lossless wav as well.

Also, it's worth re-pointing out that, coming off of the heels of one of the most emotional, beautiful, short-lived, and climatic reunions in immediate memory, this is the first new material Blur have recorded since 2003's Think Tank.

We haven't even listened to it yet.

Blur are one of those bands, those personal bands — you might have two or three of them — that feel like they've known you for centuries. You feel a big warmth when you think about the songs, the shows, the history. What they've done with your life. The band might've gone up and down over the years, but somehow, unlike most anything else, they've never disappointed you.

We're going to find a nice, quiet time for this one, a sunny afternoon.

It's been seven years.

We can wait a couple more days.

It only has to be good.
