Song New Vaselines (!) - "I Hate the '80s"

I did not see this coming* (although I suppose they had been playing new songs):
File with James Murphy's "borrowed nostalgia" and any number of early period Hold Steady zingers. The Vaselines were always at their best when they were both dreamy and snarky—nice to see they've still got it. The new album's out Sept 14th on Sub Pop.
*And, yes, I know it's been floating around for a couple weeks, but I don't think it's been on Line Out.
