The Importance of Free’s “Mouthful of Grass”

Free’s “Mouthful of Grass” (from the band's 1969 LP Free and the B-side to the monster AOR hit “All Right Now”) presaged Spacemen 3’s more blissed-out side (see The Perfect Prescription) and therefore foreshadowed Spiritualized’s early (pure) phase, which led to many thousands of people enjoying mind-blowing acid trips at Jason Pierce and company's live performances, which in turn gave those said concertgoers glimpses into the eternal, mystical beauty of the universe. Ergo, Free’s “Mouthful of Grass” is a crucial part of musical history. Even Bad Company's existence can't negate that.
