The wristband is $60. Which would be cool for a festival and all...but I would love to see both Gogol Bordello AND Belle & Sebastian, but since one is at Showbox SODO and the other is at Benaroya Hall, I'll have to make a decision. Ditto for Guys and Dolls AND John Medeski.

Also, choosing between DJ Spooky and Big Boi is totally unfair for more than just my eclectic tastes.

OMG!!! Just what Seattle needed! Another festival! Folklife, Bumbershoot, Capitol Hill Block Party, Fremont Solstice Parade, University Street Fair, Hempfest, Pride Parade, Bite of Seattle, Seafair, Film Festival...Lord knows we wouldn't want to go more than a few days without having access to huge crowds, no parking, loud music and overpriced food and drink.

I'm so glad that B&S booked a Seattle stop on their US tour. For a while it was looking like we'd done something terrible to offend them.

Oh, and there's a $125 wristband that gets you into all headliner shows.

This is crazy though. How did they get so many big acts? The line-up is arguably stronger than Bumbershoot ...

@10, it's put on by Hieneken, it's not like they are lacking in money. Some of the music festivals they put on in the UK were free and featured bands like the Pogues, Stranglers, Siouxsie, Oasis and more.

So is art part of this? The name kinda implies it's more than a music festival.

It's actually put on by City Arts Magazine. Heineken sponsors.

It's curated by Michael Hebb and Steven Severin. Check the website for the less show-based stuff.

I am completely happy that B&S are coming back to town, but I maintain that Heikeken fucking sucks.

Yeah, Heineken has never been a good beer, Frank Booth called that shit right. Thanks #12, that's why the name seemed at odds with the event. I've seen that magazine, but I thought it was a yuppie magazine, it looks really boring. Perhaps I'll have to pick up a copy next time.
