Pantha du Prince Gives Us the Chills

Specifically the Chills' classic song "Pink Frost." In one of those "Whoa, am I really hearing this?" moments, I was just now listening for the first time to German minimal-techno producer Pantha du Prince's "Circle Glider" off his really fucking good 2004 album Diamond Daze (late pass, please); what do I hear in the intro but the muted, cyclical, beautiful guitar chimes from "Pink Frost," one of the zeniths of New Zealand pop. Experiencing that in the midst of a driving, charcoal-hued slab of techno was a shocker to say the least. I love when that happens.

By the way, Pantha du Prince performs at Decibel Festival's Ghostly International Label Showcase Wed. Sept 22 at Neumos.

"Pink Frost": One of my favorite singles ever. Thanks for the memory glide.
