This Strangercrombie Battle Is Getting Nasty...

Posted by on Wed, Dec 15, 2010 at 12:05 PM

As Paul previously reported, local indie rockers and Strangercrombie do-gooders Pillow Army and Exohoxo have turned their Strangercrombie auctions into a battle. Which band will get the most money for their custom song-writing services? We'll find out tonight at 5 pm! Until then, things continue to get nasty. Yesterday's comment thread turned into a battle of the wits:

So does the name Exohxo refer to the symbol for hugs and kisses or the XML microformat? This explains why there are so many nerds and grandmothers at your shows.

It's not our fault your grandmothers would rather see us play than you!

Grandma says she likes your music because it helps her fall asleep.

And today, this e-mail was delivered to the music@thestranger.com address:

I've attached a jpg of the cover art for Exohxo's next EP which is a follow-up to their 2009 release "Other Ghosts". If you can post about it on Line Out before their Strangercrombie auction ends, we would appreciate it!

Sick burn!

Vote for Exohoxo or Pillow Army with your dollars! It goes to charity, and the auctions close at 5 pm TONIGHT!

(As of right now, Pillow Army is up by $40, btw.)

Pillow Army doesn't have a single song about cats. I like cats and I like that Exohxo writes songs about cats. I don't think they should be ashamed that most of their fans are older women like myself. I bought their first album in 2009 and it has stayed in the stereo of my golf cart ever since.
