The Biggest Asshole I Know always goes on about what a genius Chuck Schuldinger (metal Death) was. So without listening, Detroit Death.

to be fair, Chuck was pretty full of himself and has a dumb cult of fans, and Death is nowhere near the best death metal band ever

But Death from Detroit is fashionably co-opted, over rated bullshit. nobody really listens to these guys they just love to make sure you know that they know.

Death from Orlando by a mile.

Co-opted my dick, this is the first time I've heard them in my life. If some white people listening to a band 35 years after they kicked it ruins some notional mystique then EVERYTHING is co-opted. Metal Death bore, Detroit Death are okay. Wouldn't ruin my trousers to catch either.

I legitimately dig the Detroit band's record, but Florid's Death is not without merit.

I would also not ruin my trousers to see either band live, because key members of both bands are dead.

Amnt 11
Both are important foundational bands in their genres. I'm more of a metal guy, but I'm not going to pick one over the other here.

Grant Brissey, Emeritus 12
I would ruin my trousers if I saw them both playing at the same time.

Death (of Detroit) are great. Kind of a nice fit near the MC5 in the collection. I was quite happy to get this record a little while back. It didn't change my life or anything.
