Moe Bar to Stream Coachella Fest Footage April 15-17

Posted by on Tue, Apr 12, 2011 at 4:26 PM

Moe Bar is planning to stream live footage of the Coachella Festival April 15-17 on "two flat screens as well as a large drop projection screen at the rear of the bar." This setup allows you to experience artists like PJ Harvey, Mount Kimbie, Ras G, Lightning Bolt, Kode9, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Leftfield (!), Animal Collective, and, most importantly, Duran Duran without having to smell the residue of decades of horse manure on the grounds of Empire Polo Fields and the stench of Honey Buckets while maneuvering around thousands of drunk and drugged-up punters, many of whom harbor an unsavory preference for hacky sack. Moe expects the stream to start at 5 pm. Cover is $0.00.

If memory serves, frisbee is much more popular than hacky sack among Coachella goers, who are typically fortunate enough to get to the polo fields before the horses have had their way with the grass.

But this is still very cool; I'm glad that they were able to set this up and hope that whoever's running the live feed this year has less trouble with buffering than Pitchfork did for LCD Soundsystem's last show.
