Record Store Day is this Saturday, and a bunch of local shops are participating in the action. You can see a full list of special releases (there are hundreds) at recordstoreday.com/SpecialReleases. (Not every participating store will have every release, so you may have to check the store's website for more information on their selection.)

There are also a bunch of free and all-ages in-store performances and signings happening around the city. Here's the complete schedule (as we currently know it... have more? E-mail me!)

UPDATE: There is a NEW record store opening just in time for RSD2K11! It's called Spin Cycle, and it'll be located at 321 Broadway on Capitol Hill. Their grand opening day will be April 15th, and the owner of the store and all the staff are the same folks who ran Gruv, which closed without warning in December. Happy Record Store Day!

I'll be at Silver Platters catching Zoe Muth and Tea Cozies. Then I'm making a mad dash to Easy Street for Head and the Heart.
