DO NOT PLAY THAT PORTLANDIA SONG* EVER AGAIN. Same with Flight of the Conchords' "Business Time." Only funny the first time, if that.

Now "Detachable Penis" by King Missile—that never gets old. Thanks for that this morning!

*UPDATE: I mean the horrible "The Dream of the '90s Is Alive in Portland"—thank you, Mr. Baxter.

Little known fact: the giant brain that controls all KEXP shows reads all blogs and takes people's wants into consideration. It's like Santa Claus, but instead of watching children, it reads asshole internet posts all day.

"That Portlandia Song" is called "Feel It All Around" and it's by Sub Pop artist Washed Out, BTW

what would be nice is maybe if one day a week (say like a Wednesday or Thursday...one of those hump days where a simple irritating thing becomes unbearable) KEXP would do a reverse-programming/opposite day playlist. like anytime Cheryl Waters has the inclination to play another faceless chillwave song or some cutesy indie culture novelty track or some bland folk-country she receives an electric shock and instead has to play a set comprised of Royal Trux, Six Finger Satellite, "Rid Of Me"-era PJ Harvey or...I dunno, Slade? just anything but what happens from 10-2pm on a daily basis would be fine by me.

i don't the song y'all are talking about here, but that Washed Out tune is pretty awesome and never seems to get old. Looking forward to his new record.
