It's easy to grumble about the rapid ascension of Seattle's the Head and the Heart. Things certainly have been going their way lately, including signing with Sub Pop and playing the Sasquatch main stage on Saturday afternoon. I stood next to a group of twenty-something chin strokers who watched the show intently while listing off everything that they thought was wrong with the group, from their playing to their appearance. They discussed the time line of their rise to popularity in great detail. I asked them where they were from, they told me Seattle. But it seemed from where I stood, the rest of the crowd couldn't possibly care less, most of them dancing wildly and singing along while actually knowing most of the words. So here's perhaps yet another band that will call Seattle home but can ignore the seemingly disapproving grumps from the Emerald City. Oh grumps, when will you learn?
