Never let it be said that Arrington de Dionyso likes to stay in one place creatively. For proof, check out his digital album, Slow Dancin' Under the Moon, recorded last year using Songsmith software. Its creator calls Moon "one of the most unlistenable and abrasively grating albums [he's] ever made." This is true, although it is not without its fascinating elements. ADD's vocals make it sound like he's in acute gastric distress throughout the record and the music emits a queasy, hypnagogic, jazz-world-pop aura that sounds like it could've been cut in Jakarta in 1982 under malarial circumstances. Play this at your next party when you want your guests to scatter.
The full-length is downloadable at Arrington's Bandcamp page for $5, which goes toward funding ADD's upcoming tour of Indonesia.
Arrington de Dionyso's Malakait dan Singa perform Wed. June 29 at Nectar with Group Doueh and Angelo Spencer et les Hauts Sommets.
