"Beth Cosentino is a bitch." - A girl at an ice cream shop, 7/25/2011

Have you ever been to Randy's Restaurant in Tukwila? Near Boeing and covered in aviation memorabilia, it's like a nine-year-old boy's bedroom and the food is totally gnarly. While leaving there on early Sunday afternoon we were engaged in a conversation concerning if our lives would have been better served had we been astronauts or Olympic athletes. While driving to the Capitol Hill Block Party we saw an apartment building on fire. We arrived at the same time as the first squad cars, minutes before the fire trucks. We didn't mind watching as it burned because nobody was on a balcony screaming bloody murder while the sky filled with the acrid smoke of things burning. Surprisingly, a giant thing on fire eventually became too boring to watch, so we left. When we got home, the water pressure was wonky. LESSON LEARNED: Don't worry if you're not an astronaut, you can just burn up here at home in an apartment building in Tukwila unincorporated King County.

The Capitol Hill Block Party is so fun, you should go! My favorite thing about music festivals is browsing the Craigslist missed connections sections afterward. There only seems to be four up there now and here is my response to each one. Read them soon before they disappear! THEY WERE ALL SENT TO ME.

CL MC #1: Oh, yes. Hello. God, there's no way that person exists! I'm really sorry that I was so generous. I found your wallet. Let's have sex, I'm glad you're an artist.

CL MC #2: I do want my sweater back. Let's have sex, thanks for babysitting it!

CL MC #3: Yes, let's have sex and trade back!

CL MC #4: HAHAHAHAHA, AWESOME AND BARF!

The Fresh & Onlys stayed at our house on Friday. I mostly just talked to Kyle the drummer. We mostly just talked about DC hardcore. Eventually, he carried Larry the cat around the house on one of his arms. Somebody cooked a bunch of sausages, but nobody ate any of them. I fell asleep watching The League, which is kind of a laugh riot.

CAPERIN' PLAYLIST FOR 7/25/2011:

Cop City / Chill PillarsHeld Hostage on Planet Chill

Ruben received this record by accident in the mail last week and it's been on constant rotation ever since. I'd call it spazz-core with no need for soul. It's like "having too much education rock" but done in a very sincere fashion. Writing music reviews is really funny!

Deadbeat Beat - When I Talk To You

Emily came home with this tape and I can tell that it's going to live in our car for the rest of the year. The recording quality is my favorite part, it's lo-fi Phil Spector with a ton of hooks. Mostly enjoyed by people who like good music.

That's not Tukwila, it's unincorporated King County.

The water pressure was wonky because I was watering the garden. It was not from the fire trucks. I don't think. Also, don't EVER confuse Tukwila and UKC again, idiot.
