Rain City Rock Camp For Girls: The Summer Camp Showcase @ Neumos

Posted by on Sat, Jul 30, 2011 at 2:55 PM

I think watching a bunch of 8-year old girls play on the Neumo's stage—fighting back stage fright, nervousness, and insecurity was one of the top ten neatest things I've ever seen. And when the group "Another Name For Awesome" got everybody to chant "GIRLS ROCK! GIRLS ROCK!"—I got a little teary eyed—and I don't even have kids!

Find out more Rain City Rock Camp For Girls right here. My great-biggest high-fives to all the girls who played today. YOU. ARE. AWESOME.

Awesome. My co-worker, Maria, has been teaching a singing class, and having a blast.

I'm super bummed that none of the older girls' bands have any photos up. SAD FACE CENTRAL YO. There should be at LEAST one picture of Sweaters, whose song "Sith Happens" ruled so fucking hard.

The show was awesome, the girls were bold, and the photos are great. Thanks, KellyO! @4- you're missing the big picture, that this event got this kind of recognition at all is wonderful. Your complaining is like pissing in the punch bowl.

Awe, too bad my 12 year old niece had to leave for home. We as a family could have gone and she would have had a much better time seeing and listening to these awesome girls her age. It would have been a much better time for her/us and would not have costed as much as taking her to CHBP.

I don't think the intention was really to complain - just to point at that Sith Happens ROCKS!
