Hailing from the east coast in the 1980s, DYS (short for Department Of Youth Services) was part of the infamous Boston Crew that also included SS Decontrol, Negative FX, Gang Green, Jerry's Kids & The F.U.'s.

Singer Dave Smalley was a teenager when he and drummer Dave Collins put together DYS in 1982. They then recorded the legendary Wolfpack demo tape (with the members of Hüsker Dü singing backups on the title track) and their first LP entitled Brotherhood a year later. This version of "Wolfpack" comes from the Brotherhood LP, a blistering call to arms for kids with hooded sweatshirts and black Xs scrawled on the backs of their hands. As with most brilliant naive hardcore, the members soon learned to play their instruments and DYS veered into metal before forming other less inspired bands. You can't really deny the brutality of this classic. NO WAY.
March the streets
30 or 40 strong
United against
A world that's wrong
The numbers shock you
It's the truth
A mini-army
Of angry youthWolfpack! Don't give us any shit
Wolfpack! Or you're gonna get hit
Wolfpack! It's a unity ideal
Wolfpack! Better believe it's realFucking proud
To be a part of this
Every kid is my brother here
Shoulder to shoulder
Or back to back
We're united
It's the year of the pack!Wolfpack! Don't give us any shit
Wolfpack! Or you're gonna get hit
Wolfpack! It's a unity ideal
Wolfpack! Better believe it's real
