Michael Winslow: The Radar Appears To Be Jammed

One of my favorite memories of visiting Seattle before I moved here is of watching Cheech & Chong's Next Movie with Ruben Mendez, which includes this brilliant segment with mouth-sound master Michael Winslow:

Born in Spokane, Washington, Winslow's first TV appearance was on The Gong Show where he wowed the audience with an astounding version of an episode of Benji & Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze."

Winslow went on to make a record and act in a bunch of movies, including his memorable role in Police Academy as Cadet Larvell Jones in every Police Academy movie (Police Academy, Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment, Police Academy 3: Back in Training, Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol, Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach, Police Academy 6: City Under Siege, Police Academy 7: Mission to Moscow) and Police Academy: The TV Series from 1997 until 1998. Click the above links for highlights from each film. If the first 58 seconds from the Police Academy 2 clip doesn't have you ROFLing, I applaud your determined humorlessness.

Of course, this classic can never be forgotten:

In 2010, Michael Winslow debuted his own iPhone and iPod Touch apps. Sometimes life totally fucking rules.

I saw Winslow at the Comedy Underground in about '85. I thought my head was going to explode!
