Hiphop doing its activism thing here in Seattle:
We are Hip Hop Occupies, a growing network of artists, activists, and cultural advocates from the Hip Hop grassroots who are educating, organizing, and agitating from the frontlines of Occupy actions all over the world.

Inspired by the revolutionary potential of the rapidly expanding Occupy Movement, and seeking to bridge the gap between occupations, communities of color, and youth, a group of Hip Hop artists on the ground of Occupy Seattle established a Hip Hop working group at the October 9th, 2011 General Assembly.

And over here we can hear hiphop expressing the realities of the Arab-Israeli conflict:

Few book titles better summarize the response listeners have made to this little heard rap by Majede Najar, an Arab-Canadian teen. Reciting her own verses in front of a computer, Najar’s lyrics conjure up the most profound horror. The kind one associates with the barbarism of the Arab-Israeli conflict, at its absolute worst. As seen through the eyes of a child, with an inexpensive sequencing program, that is.
Indeed, Souciant.com is doing a great job of covering global movement of hiphop.
