The Spits @ Chop Suey: Cops, Fire, and a Band Called Skelator

Posted by on Mon, Nov 7, 2011 at 1:15 PM

It's Monday and I still feel like I'm recovering from the Spits record release show last Friday night at Chop Suey. It's not so much a hangover, as a bang'over—headbanger's neck, per usual, after any one of their shows. Some of the other highlights were A.) Opening band Skelator who owned the crowd and sounded like a scrappier Iron Maiden B.) NOT being one of the three different drunk people I saw with bloody noses after the show, and C.) Spits encore with fire.

I love most any band that sets themselves on fire. More photos after the jump!

Hey, who let that cop in here?

Oh yeah, 'cause my parents never left me home w/ a babysitter to go to a punk show on a Friday night!

(THEY DIDN'T. But they DID leave me home alone, very young, with an even younger brother, every Friday, so they could both go bowl on Friday night bowling leagues)
