Grenades
I love a good band with thrashing guitars, guttural/pissed vocals, and hammering percussion, therefore I love Grenades. They're not new to the scene, I know—in fact, they've been around since 2010—but 2012 is the year this Seattle band is getting real. After releasing a three-song demo and a split LP with Mercy Ties, the rifftastic hardcore band has finally entered the studio (the Red Room, where Narrows recently tracked their upcoming album) and they won't come out until they're done recording what will be their debut full-length record. It's about goddamn time! They're working with Christiaan Morris of Curse of the North, who recently worked with Lozen, Champagne Champagne, and Sailor Mouth, and they're hoping for an April or May release date. So there's one good reason to survive another bleak Pacific Northwest winter.
Bonus! The band's singer and bassist, Aaron Yost, contributed to this week's regrets feature, saying:
I regret letting He Whose Ox Is Gored win Grudge Rock, not having superpowers yet, and that folk music exists.
Prepare to die, folk music.
