It's Time to Start Speculating About Who's Playing Sasquatch

In just a few weeks we will know who is playing Sasquatch! 2012! The launch party is Thursday, February 2nd, at the Neptune Theater with Junip, Matthew Caws, and the Physics.

Along with the live music, they'll also be announcing who's playing the festival, which means we have until February 2nd to fill the rumor mill with all sorts of speculation!

Will it be Built to Spill? They just announced a handful of spring tour dates in California, Louisiana, and Texas, but no Washington (yet). Maybe Pearl Jam? They have a European tour announced for June 2012, but no other dates have been announced. Neither of those clues are very strong, mind you. Maybe Nada Surf is on the bill, seeing as how their singer, Matthew Caws, will be performing at the launch party. Seems fitting.

Who do you think will be performing at Sasquatch 2012? Or: Who do you want to perform at Sasquatch?

The Weeknd, St. Vincent, Tune-yards (I refuse to participate in novelty capitalization)

I'd say St Vincent and Zola Jesus might be obvious locks at this point. There's a chance The Shins will also make an appearance after a long absence in the blogosphere radar.

A bevvy of bands, including every act I would want to see peppered over a full weekend rather than all on a single day, all of whom I would probably enjoy more at a single venue closer to home rather than on a three-day camping trip.

But then, I'm not such a young'n anymore.

It would have to be Stone Roses, RATM and/or Arctic Monkeys for me to bother.

Speculations could be narrowed down further to acts listed at the just-released Coachella poster.

Who will be playing there? I don't know but there will be at least one act I'm not interested in hearing.

@10, agree with that. You can probably take Friday at Coachella and spread it over two days, and that would be about 50-60% of the schedule.

I'd almost bank on The Shins, given the release date for their next release. There's also decent timing on new releases from Phoenix, The Knife and The Joy Formidable. Two years removed from 2nd stage triumphs, Mumford & Sons, Dirty Projectors, The Xx who could move to the main stage (all have new releases tentatively slated for Spring/Summer).

It seems impossible, but how about an ATL night with a double-headed reunion of Outkast and Goodie Mob, with Janelle Monae opening just for good measure?

I like everything #17 said... but my hopes are not actually high enough to assume that any combination of acts would be worth the expense and effort of actually attending Sasquatch.

#7 x100.

Also, Sasquatch and Coachella are separated by over a month. I'd be surprised if any more than a handful of artists would stay bumming around the West Coast for 33 days to play both.
