Today's Music News: Grouper and Tiny Vipers Collaborate, The Doors Meet Skrillex, Teenager Sees Vinyl

RIP Etta James: Everyone on the Internet is making tributes to the singer who passed away today (and rightly so), and the Onion's A.V. Club did a good one so I'll link to that.

Grouper + Tiny Vipers: Collaborative album between the two artists is in the works.

Jim Morrison Would Have Loved Dubstep: So says Ray Manzarek, being asked about his recent "Doors" collaboration with Skrillex.

The Saga of Megaupload, or How Will We Download Anything Ever Again?: Domain was seized by the US Justice Department yesterday, various executives are in jail (and sport crazy names like Swizz Beatz and Kim Dotcom), and now there's a website calling itself Megaupload and promising to "be back full again."

Teenager Sees Vinyl For the First Time: I still have my doubts about this video, but a 13 year-old supposedly sees a record for the first time and it's caught on tape.

"Oh Shit, Life is Real": I've always been underwhelmed by Best Coast, but damn it if everything I keep hearing about this upcoming new album of hers makes me want to check it out with a fresh set of ears.

I Love Sharon Van Etten: The album I'm most excited for in 2012 has to be Sharon Van Etten's Tramp, due on on February 7th. She's also got a Seattle stop at the Neptune (with the War on Drugs) on March 25th that you don't want to sleep on, folks. Here's a live cut of "Give Out", from the upcoming album, that I hope you'll enjoy.
