Dust Bin Soggy! Is This Punk or Metal?

Oh man, this article on Dangerous Minds—"I Wanna Be Your Frog"... Obscure French 80's rock band is being compared to Iggy Pop and the Stooges. But are they punk, or are they metal?

This is what quaintly used to be refered to as Hard Rock. If'n you dig this, yous should check out Trust, another French band from the same time period with a very similiar sound.
