Oh boy. I was so exited when I heard that Vashon's own sweet geniuses, The Terrordactyls, were playing at Chop Suey tonight! They have a song called "Sad Pizza" and a song called "Party Train", and those songs take turns being stuck in my head at all times. After looking into the other bands playing tonight, I got even more excited! Gnosis is a Japanese grunge band that boasts a mind-blowing geocities website. The Gnosis homepage announces "grunge is not dead" over a background photo of The Trading Musician (??!!). Judging from the snippets of video on their site, Gnosis sounds (and looks!) like a wonderful Japanese Smashing Pumpkins / Nirvana ball of bleach and flannel. I couldn't find much info about Troll 8 (also from Japan), except that they are on tour to Seattle with Gnosis, the tour is called "Some Time in Grunge City", and their one band picture looks pretty alternative. After all this extreme investigative journalism, I was too tired to wrangle any more MySpaces for the day, but I can tell you that Tennis Pro has great hair, and is playing last.
