Marginal Way is an amazing skate park. It's also a non-profit. They tell me, since 2004, they've raised over 50K in donations—through events like punk rock shows, BBQs, and art openings. They're not funded by City of Seattle. They say they've rarely had any problems at all with the city, and most trouble at the park is vandalism from non-skaters, and now, theft.

We are having a benefit to raise funds to replace our generator and tools that got ripped off from the park. Someone broke into our storage shed (which is not easy) and stole the heart of our building tools. I guess the SODO has been a hot spot for theft right now with all the road city work . We just bought that new generator. We hope to raise at least 2K to replace it. Since we are a non-profit 501 C3 people can also donate as a tax write off.

The show is tonight at The Kraken (formerly the Galway Arms), 9 pm, with music from Colonix, Same-Sex Dictator, Don Peyote, and Frustration. There's a also a raffle with tons of prizes (see flyer).
