Help Daydream Vacation Record Their Debut Album

Posted by on Thu, Feb 9, 2012 at 9:44 AM

Daydream Vacation is Dave Einmo from Head Like a Kite and Asya de Saavedra from Smoosh (and they perform live with Nat Damm on drums), and they just set up a Kickstarter campaign to raise some funds towards recording their debut record. They're hoping to raise $4,500 by March 25th.

In return for your hard earned cash, you can get things like autographed CDs, hand painted t-shirts, handwritten lyrics, or an appearance in a Daydream Vacation video. Give $150 and Dave will make you and two guests dinner at your house!

Learn more about it here.

They have a better chance of getting cancer and going through the make a wish foundation. They could even fake it, you know--like scoot around with their wheelchairs in the studio and stuff?? Directly to the right of where I am typing I see a blurb from David's other half (from a previous life) has on here about "audio of a pumpkin being dropped down a garbage chute." Wow. Creative. It is getting a lot of "buzz." Totally buzzworthy, dude. Let's remember that this is the same guy who had a 3 page spread in the Stranger a few years back about "being a musician and losing his girlfriend." Right, of course. Of course that went to press because it was informative and worth being printed. I can't wait to read his 3 page spread in next week's issue describing what a pumpkin sounds like when it smashes. Maybe these daydreamers should wake up and get a job like the rest of us, becuase seriously; I don't even want to be paid to listen to your record, much less pay you to shit it out.

Smoosh = Great band, serious musicians, great attitude, and their last CD was awesome! They can really go places if they FOCUS on their OWN BAND and start communicating with their fans (around the world!)

HLAK = Local party band that's fun, relies on cliche gimmicks and Dave's used-car salesman style of promotion, but the band is going nowhere, it's over.

Daydream Vacation = The death of Smoosh... or, music that Smoosh could easily write and add to their show to mix things up dynamically.

Smoosh + HLAK = Daydream Vacation??? That's what Dave says... So unless Asya alone *is* Smoosh, I wonder what her sisters think about that comment? Dave's over and is trying to catch a ride on Smoosh's promising future.
