The Head and the Heart Will Perform for the President This Afternoon

Posted by on Fri, Feb 17, 2012 at 10:32 AM

President Obama is in town today, visiting the Boeing Factory in Everett, and this afternoon he'll attend a lunch at the Bellevue Westin where Seattle's own the Head and the Heart will perform for him. If you have $1,000, you can be there, too!

Says nwprogressive.org:

The minimum required to get in the door is $1,000. For just $4,000 more, you can have your picture taken with the President at a photo reception. For a grand total of $6,000, you can get into the photo reception with a friend.

Or, for $10,000, you can buy up a table at the event.

I sure hope the sound quality is okay.

I thought it was going to be Kenny G.

When I found this story from a link that stated that "Seattle's worst export in years" would be playing for President Obama, I naturally assumed Kenny G. Guess I was wrong.

Russell better keep that temper under control. The Secret Service probably won't be as understanding as Doug Krebs.

Give those kids a break. Good for them, it's not like they're Chris Brown.

Future headline: Neo-conservative plot to torture president with tired folk music foiled by heroic soundman.

Well I think they're generally nice people, and their record is charming. Haters gonna hate and such.

Jon Russel is a lovely human. I don't know how you all fit your high horses through the door everyday. Though this whole fundraiser thing makes me weary. As if there wasn't a lack of direct-democracy already, it would be nice to have a venue for poor people to go and tell Obama to shut down Gitmo through a cheesy smile while you pose with him. That was a horrible sentence.

As much as I have wanted to throttle a few sound people, I have to say that once you start physically attacking people for things that ultimately don't matter, you are officially a piece of shit.

Every generation gets the easy-listening music it deserves.

Sure, no one should do that. But people are incredibly quick to judge. Not all actions being equal, most people have done something the general public considers morally reprehensible to some degree. You just don't have it broadcast over the SLOG because you don't live under media scrutiny. Plus, didn't this happen a long fucking time ago?

You guys are ridiculous. Krebs seems like a little bitch complaining on his little blog. I'm assuming most of you weren't there to witness the situation at Tractor and you're all probably just jealous that your stupid band sucks.

Jon is also playing a benefit show for Planned Parenthood tonight at Conor Byrne. WHAT A MONSTER. http://www.facebook.com/events/249551761…

People get in fights every night at bars. Who cares! Get over it!

3rd rate president = 3rd rate band.

When asked Springsteen said, "Uh hey man, sorry, I got a thing, maybe later ya know..."

I think it is deplorable that one of the members assulted the sound guy. I really don't see what is wrong with them playing the luncheon though. I would rather they play it then say Pickwick. Virgin Islands though would have been brilliant. Black Breath would have been killer though.

Especially when the Stranger keeps harping about it like the guy was John Wayne Gacy or something.

Looks like that other "Seattle's worst export in years" link on SLOG got pulled. At least somebody there wasn't so god damned petty.
