Raking As Much Money Out of Whitney Houston's Corpse as Humanly Possible: The 20th Anniversary of The Bodyguard

Posted by on Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 11:06 AM

Normally a film's 20th Anniversary would warrant maybe a DVD box set and a little promotional push. But that would be a good film. The Bodyguard was not a good film. Example reason: Kevin Costner. Yes, it and its soundtrack moved a lot of units, but really, who remembers anything about that turd other than Houston's "I Will Always Love You"? With this information I inform you that NCM Fathom and Warner Bros. are giving the thing a nationwide one-night showing. See you somewhere else!

Nick Lowe made a million bucks in royalties when someone covered "What's So Funny Bout Peace, Love and Understanding" on the soundtrack, so I suppose he remembers it fondly.

"I'm Every Woman" is one of my favourite Whitney songs. Kick rocks.
