Clearly, it was aiming for Ozzy Osbourne. Read about Torche guitarist Andrew Elstner's ordeal here. According to my pal, Alan, the old protocol for rabies exposure was 23 injections in the stomach. We've come a long way, baby!

And while I'm at it, here's one of my favorite goth-rock tracks from the '80s. I used to play it from time to time at KWCW (radio station at Whitman College*):

*The star of ABC's Batman, Adam West (born William West Anderson), went to Whitman.

"Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" comes from the Sire Records EP Batastrophe (due to the confusing cover art, I briefly thought their full name was Specimen Batastrophe).

Here's an apt description of the band from Plunder the Tombs:

It would be easy to ridicule Specimen if one was to approach them from the point of view of a serious music critic, but to take that stance would be to completely miss the point. There was nothing profound or deeply artistic about Specimen, they were purely and simply a goth party band who made an artform out of campy tackiness with androgynous sexuality set to overdrive.
