Ty Segall and Tim Presley's White Fence have released a second song off their upcoming release, Hair, by way of this performance for Room 205 (with Mikal Cronin on bass and Nick Murray on drums). If it isn't as exciting as "I Am Not a Game," which had a major Pretty Things vibe, it's still pretty great. The YouTube commenter who cited Pink Floyd ("Interstellar Overdrive") isn't totally off the mark, at least regarding the second half of the song where Segall and Presley go guitar crazy (the press notes also mention Amon Düül II and the Animated Egg).

Below: "Scissor People" plus a couple of jams from the Animated Egg.

I'd never even heard of the Animated Egg until today. My new favorite band!

Excerpt from the YouTube summary that accompanies "Inside Looking Out":

In addition to leading surf gods the Spacemen, Jerry Cole worked with everyone from the Beach Boys, the Byrds, and Them to Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. But unbeknownst to many, Cole was also the driving force behind this fictitious band whose lone, self-titled 1967 LP is one of the greatest psychedelic exploitation records to hit the budget bins of US chain stores—and eventually the want lists of big-spending DJs and collectors.

Public Enemy samples the song in 1999's "Do You Wanna Go Our Way???"

Drag City releases Hair on April 24, 2012. Click here for more information.
