Forget Odd Future Lyrics, Remember When The Beastie Boys Were Scary?

Starring Oprah Winfrey ("Beestizz BOI-zzz!"), Tipper Gore ("They have a 20-foot inflatable penis"), Jello Biafra ("The lyrics flashed on the screen were obviously social satire, and I would interpret it as making fun of idiots would use crack"), Bob Guccione Jr. ("That is their ACT. It is what they SELL"), and random teenage mullet ("If Lionel Ritchie comes out with a song about necrophilia, I'm not gonna buy his record.")

I don't think anyone is shocked by these childrens' music. I think they are more irritated by them as human per the Albini run-in a while back.

I miss the days when Jello was shocking, and not just annoying

To be fair, if Lionel Richie releases a song about necrophilia he knows that's something Kenny Rogers can sell better and he'll just lend his piano skills to the track.

This is almost the exact conversation that took place when Louis CK was on The View a couple of years ago, with Barbara Walters playing the role of Tipper Gore. To her credit, at least Barbara acknowledged her criticism was only helping to sell his act. Deviant youth vs. concerned mothers -- it's a symbiotic relationship.
