He is a revolutionary. She is a peasant girl. She fears he will rise to power and leave her for the fancy white lady—the sister of their oppressor. He reassures her that his heart is her heart. He is a peasant; she is a peasant. They are one. They are meant for each other. They will raise children and chickens together. Happiness is a homegrown girl. But how can the revolutionary resist the imperial beauty of the white lady? She wants him as badly as the peasant girl wants him. Who will he pick? The movie is Lagaan; the music is by A. R. Rahman.
