That place looks kinda depressing, and I get a retirement home vibe from the curtains... might be the strong flash photography though.
Nonetheless, excited to check it out eventually.

I hope it's an effect of the photography, but it just looks too damn BRIGHT to be a proper rock club.

It's definitely not that bright in person; that is the result of the crazy-bright flash on the camera that was used.

Since cell phone reception is poor, do they at least provide free or any wifi?

Barboza is a great addition to the music club scene. Photos do NOT do it justice. Booths are very comfy. Sound is great. You can order food upstairs at Moe and bring it down - which was nice. BOAT was great. Imperial Teen, too. And why is everyone obsessed with cell coverage? Relax. Enjoy the music, your friends and the experience. For what it's worth, my iPhone with ATT worked fine. I sent a message on FB and found a friend in the crowd.

I thought it was great, that was my first time there. Hard to see the stage from the back booths but nice to have a comfy place to sit and a place to set my drink and the sound was good way to the back where I was sitting. I can see how the layout might lend itself to people being too chatty in the back if they weren't into the bands (kinda like being in a box at a sporting event) but overall I say yay for this place! It didn't hurt that one of the BOAT guys was my kids' teacher, and that I ran into Baconcat and Carebear and VeryBadHomo :) Good times!

Reminds me of my cool uncle's basement in the 70s. Imperial Teen & Boat were really fun.

@9, Free wifi? Man I remember the time when people enjoyed concerts and paid attention to the people performing, not checking facebook/texting. More places need bad cell reception.

Wifi is coming soon.

The early shows are a - in my book. I need time to take a disco nap, especially on a Friday evening after a long week of work. I missed all but the last little bit of the show on Friday.

Exposed brick seems like a plus until you scrape against it.

With regards to Segal's post about annoying people talking through shows, I would say the poor cell phone service is a +. Go the fuck outside if you need to text/call someone.

Free drinks, cocaine, handjobs and being within 2 blocks of Seattles laziest newspaper will get you this type of publicity too folks!
