And it is Honda, who had some sort of picture-taking contest in which you could win a Civic or something. Anyway, here is the depot:

show me the indians that are harmed by some stupid teenagers at a festival donning a costume. show me how exactly honda is profiting off of this. did they sell any cars because kids thought it was awesome to wear historically inaccurate garb?

Mathó Wayúhi ("Conquering Bear") was a Brulé Lakota chief who signed the Fort Laramie Treaty (1851). He was killed in 1854 when troops from Fort Laramie entered his encampment to arrest a Sioux who had shot a calf belonging to the Mormons.

This is hilarious @1, considering the FESTIVAL'S NAME is a Native Indignous Name. If we can't respect the people that lived on this land, attend a festival with word from their culture, and make a joke out it, do we really have value to music, consciousness and intelligence? If they weren't doing it for their own benefit, why are they represented as HONDA, and not just some random ignorant individuals? Just wondering

Attend a festival with a word from their culture? So because we use a Salish word, extreme generalizations should be made? Seattle and Tacoma are derived from NW native tribes, but you aren't being issued a head dress the moment you cross over the city line.
Even if that were an acceptable excuse, were there any Northwest tribes that wore head dresses like that? No, there were not. That type of garb was worn exclusively by tribes in the Great Plains region.
If Honda had a tent up where they were putting people in stereotypical clothing of some other ethnicity, everyone would be jumping right on the PC bandwagon and freaking the frack out. I don't understand why this trend is deemed so acceptable, especially in such a liberal and culturally sensitive area.

#10-FYI, if you read carefully, you'll see I'm explaining just how ignorant that was. I'm actually NW native and I resent every time I see a person from seattle being culturally insensitive because this is supposed to be a place that celebrates music that brings consciosness, intellect and good vibes. It shouldn't be a place of mediocre stereotypes and generalization of all tribes, including NorthWest tribes. We don't wear headresses like that, but the people who live here should already know this.....
