Those records she made with Sonny early on still sound pretty good. Not just the top hits under the name "Sonny & Cher" but her solo records on Imperial, the whole folk-rock thing that they rode hard and put away wet.

I still can't believe "Believe" - the autotuned trainwreck that spawned a million other autotuned trainwrecks - is the biggest single of her entire 40-year career. Humanity never fails to disappoint.
