Brooklyn-based group Swearin' has taken over every single one of my musical devices for the past few weeks. If you ever wished for Visqueen, Fastbacks, or Superchunk to be slightly more pop punk, the time has come.

I first heard of the band through a text from a friend. It probably went something like most texts I receive, "Dude, just Google this band. Trust me." The group's latest record is self-titled and it's their second full length on Salinas Records. It's also available on If You Make It, so you can go grab that album for free/donation.

Allison Crutchfield (guitarist/vocalist) has a twin sister named Kate who was in P.S. Elliot and is now in a solo project called Waxahatchee—they're touring with the group and playing at the Kraken Bar & Lounge tonight.
