Despite its highlights, Shystie's 2004 major-label debut Diamond In The Dirt was a bit of a rushed and stillborn affair that failed to fully extract her talents, which prevented her from grabbing the British black dance-culture cross-over baton from the likes of Ms. Dynamite or Kano, both of whom she previously and subsequently worked with to fantastic effect.
A real treat, then, to hear her pop up and run the road on all cylinders again.
