About Time: Propagandhi have released the first track off their record Failed States set to come out on September 4, 2012. Bonus points! It's really good.

The Kids Are Freaking Out: Ben Gibbard has his "debut" solo record, Former Lives, coming out on October 16th on Barsuk Records. The album was recorded over the period of eight years when he was transitioning from Seattle to Los Angeles. Although if anyone is old enough to remember, Ben Gibbard also released a somewhat solo album way back when under the name of All-Time Quarterback.

Calling All Nerds: Coheed and Cambria announced at this weekend's San Diego Comic Con that their comic book series The Amory Wars will be turned into a movie with the help of Mark Wahlberg.

My 14-Year Old Self Is Bummed: If you can listen to the song again, No Doubt released their video for "Settle Down."

Big News Here: Elton John comes out saying that he has regrets with his drug use from the past. Raise your fists in the air Elton, drug free.

I can assure you no kids are freaking out about the Ben Gibbard record. There may be some mildly excited college sophomores, and a Jr. Executive somewhere who is happy he will have a new set of tracks to add to his 'casual Friday' work-safe playlist.
