If you are A Gay (and you probably are—at least a little bit sometimes, admit it), then your presence is required tomorrow night as we celebrate the 100th installment of Comeback—one of the most successful and beloved queer dance parties this watery little berg has ever seen.
From the start, this once-a-month event (every last Friday, to be precise) has been a collaboration and labor of lurve between some of our most talented and engaging nightlife architects, including Marcus Wilson, Eric Grandy, Shannon Carroll, and, of course, MORE.
This impressive list includes globe-trotting DJ Colby B, who flies accross the country once a month from NYC to spin the event. (Her carbon footprint is devastating, but she does it all for you.) As Colby tells us in The Homosexual Agenda this week:
We've brought legends like Miss Guy, Larry Tee, Candis Cayne, Justin Bond and new beacons like Ssion, Sammy Jo (scissor sisters), Sparber, Tubway and the house of Aviance. All while trying to include our neighbors from the west coast and a amazing people we find, giving Seattle examples of how it's done elsewhere and letting our guests see how we do it too. We feel we are STILL filling a void and will be around as long as we are supported. Why the hell else would I fly across the country every month?
Friday night's 100th Comeback is very NYC-flavored—it's like Colby is dragging half of the Isle of Manhattan into town with her. It’s hosted by glittery NYC transplant MOOKIE QUEEN, and the special, just-announced headliner is LADY STARLIGHT, “NYC’s BEST female hard rock DJ”. And to add a bit of glittery gravy, it’s DJ Colby B’s birthday, too, so the blow-out is certain to be even bigger than usual. Guaranteed.
Happy 100th Comeback! Happy whatever-th, Colby B! Be there, or consider your Gay Card REVOKED.
